Getting the right tools
Imagine yourself in a courtroom...

I was going to write about the challenges and risks of taking on big cases and how there is so much pressure these days to do so.
And then this post from Dr Kyle Stanley popped up. He must have been reading my thoughts.
There’s no easy way to start taking on big cases, however, ensuring you are educated is a good starting point.
Yes, you can learn from your peers, your boss, or get ideas from social media or attend a course put on by a lab or a company.
However, I always feel a good way to check to see whether you have sufficient of the right tools in your toolkit is to imagine this scenario:
You’re in court and the patient’s representative is asking about your experience and education.
How confident will you feel about making this public?
How much better would you feel if you can say you completed a longer form course that included hands on and some mentoring, rather than describing how you asked your boss after work one day with some models (or scans).
If you don't have the capacity to invest in the right education then you are taking a shortcut with your patient’s care.
You’re also setting yourself up for a world of pain dealing with minor or major complications you may encounter.
Have a great day
